Abby- Special from the start
Abby, of our 1st clutch of Ambilobe Panther Chameleons, was special from the beginning. She was one of the 1st to hatch from her clutch and as a baby, she would follow me around whenever I came close to her baby bin and would appear that she was always searching for where I was. As I would use a dropper to dispense water to the babies, I had to always wrestle and work to avoid her climbing up my arm. She would follow me like a dog, is the thought I always had about her.
What's more amazing is her color- scroll down to see what I mean!

After a while, I let her spend more time with me, as it seemed that's what she enjoyed.
And then came a time when Abby blossomed and showed her beautiful colors of blue, with hints of purple.
After mating and carrying eggs
Abby still was very social and she came with me to social events.
With her first mating, Abby laid only a partial amount of her eggs. She retained the eggs for many months. leading into the next year. At this time she was inactive and didn't feel well with the eggs still in her, she slept most all of the day, hardly ate, kept one eye closed, and was very obese. I really did not think that Abby would survive....but then one day a few weeks ago, she dug into the dirt and laid all of her remaining eggs in the dirt and over her cage floor everywhere!
She became slim again, was active, and back to her love of eating and huge appetitie :)
And then.... she showed deep blue everywhere on her body- no longer just spots of blue- but blue most everywhere which turned into different shades of blue ♥!

Abby's great surprise transformation to all blue!!
